I’m Ruben

My name is Ruben Verkuil, I am 31 years old, from the Netherlands and since 2012 I have been working within the esports industry in various different ways.

Both graphic design and motion design have been tasks that I have been able to do thanks to my educational background. I have studied and successfully finished a course as Allround Desktop Publisher in 2013 at Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht after which I followed and finished a one-year course for Multimedia Engineering at CMM in 2014. Over the years I have combined these skills to develop several overlay systems and create style guides for productions across varying platforms.

Thanks to earlier experiences and chances I have been given, I was also able to build upon my foundation and taught myself how to work as a front-end developer, which has helped me to build numerous websites over the years, examples of which can be found in my portfolio.

During several big productions I have assisted by running a production entirely by myself for several thousands, if not several ten-thousands people worldwide. This means I have worked through the process of building the production setup, testing all the visuals and running the entire show on my own. An example of this is my involvement DreamHack Masters Malmö where I ran the B-stream for its duration as I have done for several other DreamHack Masters events.

In short, it is safe to say that over the last 8 years I have had the chance to do a lot of various jobs and all those jobs have helped me to develop the skills I possess now. Over the years I have worked as a Freelancer with DreamHack, Team META (previously known as 4entertainment) and a multitude of other companies, but I have also been an employee of StreamConcepts where I have worked with many other parties and picked up even more skills. In the summer of 2019 I have chosen to return to my freelance roots to further expand my knowledge and enjoy the creative freedom I need to thrive and make your website, video, production, event or whatever it may be the best it can be.
